Zoe SandersonL Take 3

Back again with another take on another image from the Nature Notes set.   This time the lovely dreamy girl.   Pair here with the background plate from 'Relish Reading' and lots of Adirondack lettuce.

Coloured with Promarkers there is an air of Clarice Cliff and Girl's own adventures to her don't you think?    Birthday greeting from the same Nature Notes plate by happy chance fitted perfectly onto the woven corner strips.

I just love this quote from Nature Notes ... I paper pieced her shirt & added some embellishment at the top using the wavy line from Just Sayin'.

Zoe Sanderson -Nature Notes take 2

In Horace, the phrase is part of the longer Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero – "Seize the Day, putting as little trust as possible in the future", and the ode says that the future is unforeseen, and that instead one should scale back one's hopes to a brief future, and drink one's wine. This phrase is usually understood against Horace's Epicureanbackground.[2][Wikipedia]

For my second card using the lovely new plate Nature Notes I tried to keep to an Art Deco feel with structured lines and simplicity of design.   The little leaf swirl panel lends it's self to this ideal for the corners.   The floral design does not need anything else.

Debi Ryan: Shadow Bird Tag

Today, I'm sharing you a tag I've created using the Floriculture Set. I've sprayed and stamped the background, and then used some dies to add the key and the bird. I created the shadow bird by using the cut out from the day as a homemade mask. I'm really enjoying bright colours and getting inky at the moment, I hope you can see that from this tag.

Remember there's just a short time to go to get any of the sets on Sale.

Colleen Oxford: Nature Notes

Stamps: Bark background and Tree scene from Nature Notes half-plate

My Family and I love to go GeoCaching and when I saw the Bark background stamp from Nature Note's I couldn't wait to peel away some edges :)  I stamped the bark background all over a piece of Mellow Moss cardstock, which I then cut a 1 1/2" x 12" strip off and adhered to the left of my page.  Then I took the rest of the cardstock, placed it under the River Rock cardstock and tore away to give the feel of a Birch tree.  I then flipped the LO over and placed my adhesive where I needed it and adhered the stamped sided up to the back.  I finished this LO off by stamping the Tree scene and punching out 1" x 1" squares and one Curly Label punch, matting the squares with the Postage Stamp punch.

Barbara Washington: Captain of my Soul

My card today is a mixture of several stamp sets. I also thought it would be fun to create a card for this month's Rebel Shape Up Challenge: a recipe calling for a circle, a square, and a rectangle.
The focal image, sentiment, and frame backgrounds are all from the newest release, Nature Notes. The background was made using the Kraft Resist technique from the latest Technique Junkies newsletter. I first stamped the background stamp from Relish Reading. Then I stamped and embossed the background stamp from Just Sayin'.  I sponged on stream, caramel and rust inks for color (Ranger). I think the combination of stamps and color makes a striking background for the wonderful Nature Notes stamps.
Don't forget the RRD Sunsational Sale going on now thru August 31, 2012.

Zoe Sanderson: Nature Notes Take One

Thank you Shar for inviting me to be a Guest Designer showcasing this lovely new half plate of stamps - Nature Notes.   It is a real treat to get to see these beautiful Art Deco themed images.

Stamped onto glossy card in Archival Black this has a photographic feel to it while the image is so serene and calming.   With Autumn on the horizon the colours of the season inspired my card.

trisha too: Nature Notes trinchie

Happy Wednesday, fellow Rogues--today I have a three by three
deco/trinchie/thrinchie to share, using two of the stamps found in
the new Nature Notes plate:

I used a piece of mixed media background, and the images are stamped on
a monotype paper.  I was thinking she reminded me of a fairy, or some
such woodland creature, being green and all, but now I'm thinking more
along the lines of one of the Orion women from Star Trek . . .

New Rogue on the Run - Barb Caught Redhead-Handed!

Barb has made two fabulous cards using her Milliner Misses set!

Using a wonderful vintage color palette, Barb has highlighted these lovely ladies with a beautifully soft sponged frame paired with an elegant die cut.

Continuing the same lovely colors, Barb created her second card with a nod to the first.  She repeated the die cut and soft inked frame as well as the colors and strong vertical line.|

Stephanie Severin: Nature Notes Montage

I love stamping on designer paper, and the new Nature Notes stamps are perfect to create a stamped montage.
I used for different stamps from the Nature Notes set (stamping the flower multiple times) together with the blocked border from Floriculture for my design.  The designer paper is the Lille Collection from 7Gypsies.

Here's some easy ideas to get you started!

You can use panels and mats with this recipe!

Stamps: Masquerade Couple from Carnival Dreams
and sentiment from Snow Hugs

You can go with a Clean and Simple look.  For this card, I used a circular mask to create a circle of color.  I added a rectangle to the bottom third of the card for the sentiment and framed the flower in a square mat.

Stamps: flower from Nature Notes
and sentiment from Bits and Pieces

Another idea would be to go with some simple paper piecing as I did with this old gent!

Stamps: Old Gent from Just Sayin'
and sentiment from Bits and Pieces

Come back and visit our blog over the next month to see some more distressed greens.

Now, it's your turn! Find your creative rebel spirit!

Debi Ryan: Deco Birthday Set

I'm really enjoying creating with the new Release Nature Notes.  Today I've got a little Birthday set to show you. I created the background on the card by stamping most of the stamps from the set in different hues of green. I then sponged the whole piece. I then embossed the lady and sponged her in yellow and  pale orange.

I then added some ribbon, a button and the sentiment. I then created he little gift box to match. I love how this set is both modern and vintage all at the same time.

Barbara Washington: Seize the Day

My card today features stamps from the newly released Nature Notes. The lovely girl was stamped and embossed twice, once on the blue and once on white. I then colored the white image using distress markers and cut her out. I adhered her over the image on the blue. The border was made using the vine stamp. I stamped repeatedly using my stamp positioner. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed right over the leaves. I am really enjoying playing with the stamps in this set. They all work in so many ways.

Nature Notes Meets Simple Set Saturday

Rogue Redhead Designs is pleased to introduce our newest collection - Nature Notes!

Express yourself with the latest half-plate collection from Rogue Redhead Designs! With the clean art deco lines of the 1920s, this elegant set focuses on the simple majesty of nature. This set includes 3 main focal images, a mini background, 5 sentiments and 2 decorative elements. Create sweet notes, eclectic ATCs and charming cards to celebrate the spirit! Nature Notes will be available for its introductory price of US$12.00 until August 31, 2012, a 20% savings off its regular price of US$15.00.

To  introduce you to this sweet set, I've created a simple set to show off some of new images and sentiments.

The background I used was quick and easy.  To create the same effect, you need 2 or more reinkers, water, a paint palette, watercolor paper and a brush.

Add three to four drops of reinker to water in your paint palette. Dip your brush into the mixture and then brush across your watercolor paper.

I like to use two or three bands of color on the same piece of paper.  I generally start at either end and fill in the middle at the end.

I try to use colors that will blend well together where they touch. In this instance, I used a light blue, a lilac and a green.

To create more interest on my pattern, I dipped my fingers into water and then randomly drummed them on my backgrounds while the paper was still wet. Lovely irregular spots appeared!

To further create some variance in the wash, I added some sea salt and let it dry.  While this effect is lovely, sometimes the salt residue will create areas on your backgrounds that do not stamp as crisply and sometimes not at all.

I like the no-stress distressing of the images, but it is not for all projects.

Once my backgrounds dried, I simply stamped my images with Jet Black StazOn ink, trying to place my images so that they overlapped more than one color band.

To finish off, I cropped the images except on one edge which I tore.  I framed the images with a black mat which ran off the edge of a totally white card and added some sentiments.  The result is a simple card with lots of interest but not lots of fuss or muss.

Here is the rest of the set:

trisha too: just a peek . . .

Just a little sneak peek today at a wonderful image from the new
Nature Notes set--this one reminds me of an Art Nouveau period
stained glass window.
