A Little Blue

I guess I was feeling a little blue today!

For this card, I started out by smooshing a piece of glossy cardstock through a mess of blue distress inks (Faded Jeans, Tumbled Glass and Broken China).  I splashed some alcohol ink onto the surface of the card ( Denim and Stream Adirondack) and then followed with splashes of blending solution.  Now that I had a liquidy mess fit to emulate the sea, I finally stepped back and let it dry.  I then stamped my Netting background from my Just Sayin' set over top of the whole thing with Faded Jeans distress ink.

I stamped the Beach Boy from my Beach Babes collection with Tuxedo Black Memento on white cardstock.  I used an aquapainter to paint some of the distress inks onto the image to give it some tone.

I added a quote also from the Beach Babes collection.   To keep the theme nautical, I matted the quote as a flag.

Stamps: Beach Boy from Beach Babes and Netting from Just Sayin' (Rogue Redhead Designs)

Wishing you day with sunny blue skies and deep azure seas!

Best Friend

With cute images like these two sweet girls, you have to just let the image shine.  These two little girls are from the S.W.A.L.K. line.

For that reason, I kept this card extremely simple.  I picked a simple floral background panel and then pulled various colors from the designer paper to color the ladies.  I slightly offset the circular mat to give a slight sense of depth to the card.

Stamps: Best Friends from S.W.A.L.K. (available at Rogue Redhead Designs)
Personally, I just love the sentiment!  So cute....and so true!  You can find this sweet mini collection in our Other Manufacturers section on the RRD website.

Shout out to my bestie and hugs to all my stamping pals!

Autumn Ambiance

Fall is finally upon us. The 50 degree evenings are waking me up to the reality of the situation. Of course, there is so much to love about Autumn - sweater weather (important for the gingers of the world - summer is not our thing), fabulous foliage (especially when you live in the quintessential New England town) and all-things apple! My favorite part of Autumn though is the fantastic color palette that nature serves up with such vigor!

I decided to use all these wonderful warm Fall colors for my card today!I've got dusky yellows, punchy oranges, and rich browns.

For the grid square background, I stamped Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey distress ink on a craft sheet, misted the sheet and then dragged a piece of glossy cardstock through the resulting ink puddle.  I also added a few splashes and smudges of Dried Marigold distress ink.  I finished by overstamping my Sequin Waste background with Spiced Marmalade.  I waited until everything dried and punched out 9 squares with my 1" punch.

Clarisse is colored with copic markers with some Scattered Straw distress ink painted around her with an waterbrush.

Stamps: Clarisse from Nature Notes; Sequin Waste from Behind the Scenes

If you are feeling like celebrating the harvest season, check out our Nature Notes unmounted half plate!  This collection can be used for any sweater weather season - Autumn or Spring!

For the month of September, Nature Notes has been paired with our Relish Reading plate in our Vintage Duo bundle for the awesome price of $30.00US (reg. $37.00US)!
