Barbara Washington: Just for You

Each time I get a new set of RRD stamps, I'm sure it's my all time favorite. That's how I feel about the stamp sets, This n That (image an sentiment) and Behind the Scenes (background), that I used on this card.
I used the 3D Shadows technique from Technique Junkies on the image panel. The birds are popped up over the shadow. For the background I used white ink to stamp  the bubblewrap stamp from the Behind the Scenes set. I added some bakers twine and some roses as embellishments. Have I mentioned that the current May Rebel Challenge is May Flowers? Join us by June 2, 2013 and share your art. There's a great prize too.
Don't forget to check out the specials available until the end of May.

Annette Goatley: 'Just for You Midge' and a Shrink !!

Hi, hope you are enjoying Sunday.  Thought I would use 'Midge' from the new 'This and That' half plate for a change instead of using those two fab birds...............

This time I stamped her on Distress Inks and layered her up on hearts which have been outlined in gold paint. The background is made from the acrylic squishings technique.  Other products used are Bead Gel and Stickles.  The 'Just for You' is on this half plate as well.

Oh No, you cry...........Midge has been shrunk............to tell you the truth she asked me to..........and this is how she ended up......... Painted and stamped on watercolour paper using the Floriculture plate with a little bit of my own art thrown into the mix.

Hope to see you again next Sunday and would like to know whether I should show 'Midge' again or 'Birds'. Just write in the comments below please as I just cannot make up my mind.................am such a ditherer.
Take care of yourselves, hugs Annette x

Helene Huber: Just a Little Bit

I was cleaning up my craft table when I came across a bit of tag left over from a project and a scrap of black card that had been cropped off. Those little bits and pieces come in handy for a quick note card.

The black card's fold is at the top.   This lovely flower is stamped with jet black Archival ink on top of the inked bit of tag and finished off with a bow.  (Ranger distress ink pads and Dylusions spray ink were used.)

Rogue Redhead Designs has many stamps that can be used for smaller projects.  This particular flower is from the Floriculture stamp plate.

Don't forget the current Rebel Challenge is May flowers!

Have a scrappy, crafty weekend!  Helene

Debi Ryan: Notecard Misses

For todays post I've made 4 notecards, with scraps of pretty patterned paper and the Misses from Milliner Misses and Midge from This N That.

I love Midge :-) She's bigger than the other Misses, which means she's easier to colour, and I love her wearing green.

The three Misses together are so elegant, I'm always wondering where they're off too.

Finally Pretty in Pink, this miss has a bit more sparkle than the others, which i added using glitter gel pens.

Have a great week, Debi x

Vicki Robertson: This N' That Checkered Background Stamp

Vicki here with a layout that I created using the checkered background stamp from the This N' That stamp plate.  It was perfect for this dirt bike racing page!

I followed this sketch from My Sketch World

I love the hexagon shapes that are spaced throughout the sketch.  However, it was the journaling placement that caught my eye and helped me make the decision which photo I would use on my layout.

This layout is the second in an album I am making of my nephew and his dirt bike racing.  When I see photos of him flying through the air or doing some kind of wild twisted turn, my heart skips a beat.  Talk about living dangerously!  I have a motorcyle and although it's not a dirt bike, it's still a two wheeled vehicle.  I can't imagine doing what he does with his bike.

Recently, his sister took a photo of him at the beginning of a race and caught him at a very poignant moment of prayer.  Apparently, something he does at the start of every race.  I typed the prayer and copied it onto vellum paper to use on the layout.  The placement of the prayer coincided with his image in the photo perfectly.

"He Prays"

Using mists and stencils, I created a pattern of hexagons on my background paper.  Next, I stamped and cut numerous hexagon shapes in different sizes and colors using scraps from my stash and die-cuts.  The checkered background stamp from the This N' That plate was just what I needed to symbolize a winner!

The placement of the photo was next.  This was integral to where the journaling would go.  I cut the vellum journaling strip and placed part of the prayer above and the remaining part below the photo of my nephew praying.  Now it was time to work in the details and embellishments.

Following the sketch I added the hexagon die-cuts around the photo.  I used pop dots on the back of some of the shapes for added dimension.  In the upper right corner of the photo, I inked around a sticker that I had of a dirt bike racer.  Then, I mounted it on cardstock and cut it out.  Using more pop dots, I gave it "air time" and off set it from the inked image.

I made a pennant banner using die cuts for across the bottom border of the layout. The pennants were also stamped with the checkered background stamp from the This N' That stamp plate.  Just above the banner, I added the chipboard title, "He Prays".  His racing number is "338", so I took some numbered patterned paper from my stash, die-cut hexagon shapes, pieced them together for a tag and popped it up in the bottom right corner of the layout.  I also placed another of the biker stickers adjacent to it in a hexagon frame.

Thanks for looking...I hope you are inspired to add the This N' That Stamp plate to your stash!

Krisha: Journaling with This N That

What a fun page to work on, and of course I got to use my This N That RRD013 love bird stamp!!  In the background is the script stamp from the Behind the Scene/RRD012 Stamp.  The circles were made with Gelatos, a stencil, and  my finger...LOL  There was also texture added with a heart stencil and modeling paste, after it dried I blended some Bubble Gum Gelatos over the page here and there.  I stenciled the "love" then painted the letters black, and added a heart around the love birds.  Some outlining with a white gel pen finished it off.  I have been having so much fun with this new plate of stamps!!!  I do have a step by step tutorial, with a lot of pictures on my blog if you feel like you need further assistance.
Inky Hugs
Krisha
